Centre for Development Studies Admission 2020 for PhD Admission 2020 will be conducted. Centre for Development Studies (CDS) invites applications from eligible candidates on or before 08 Apr 2020.

Eligible candidates having PhD, M.Phil qualifications can take part in the entrance exam by applying online. We have mentioned all important information such as age limit, application fee, qualification, seat details, selection process etc. However, for verification and more information, the official notification pdf is also attached.

Hostel facility will be given based on availability. All rooms have attached bath and are modestly furnished. The rent for the hostel room is 500 per person per month, including electricity and water charges for ICSSR Fellowship holders. Eligible monthly HRA claimed from the UGC is to be remitted to CDS by the UGC fellowship holders as monthly rent. All residents are attached to the mess and must pay the monthly mess bill in advance within first five working days of each month. Defaulters are not encouraged to remain staying in the hostel.

Eligibility

Admission to Ph.D. Programme at CDS is subject to UGC regulations. As per UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of MPhil/Ph.D. Degrees) Regulations of 2016 mentioned below, candidates for admission to the Ph.D. program shall have:
An M.Phil degree from any Indian university recognized by the UGC or from a foreign educational institution.
OR
Master's degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed).

How to Apply

Application is to be submitted in the prescribed format along with:
Copies of mark sheets and certificates of Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees or M.Phil degrees.
Age-proof: SSLC Certificate or any other relevant document.
Candidates belonging to the following categories should submit self-attested copies of latest relevant certificates issued from competent authorities:
1. SC/ST candidates - caste certificate
2. OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates - OBC (non-creamy layer) certificate
3. Person with Disability (PWD) (with ≥ 40% disability) candidates– PWD certificate

Duly filled application form along with self-attested copies of above documents should be sent to Academic Programme Office, Centre for Development Studies, Ulloor, Medical College P.O, Thiruvananthapuram – 695 011, Kerala with the superscription over the cover ‘Application for Ph.D. Programme- 2020‘ on or before APRIL 08, 2020.
